Hello, I am Bethan. I haven't always been a florist..
I come from a creative background
Ever since I was a little girl I have had a strong desire to create. So once I was a teenager, I decided to go to Art College instead of A levels (despite my parents' initial reservations!)
On my subsequent Graphic Design degree I spent my time building props and sets rather than focusing traditional computer-based design. On the side I was eager to learn, and trying anything I could persuade people to let me do! I volunteered in an art gallery and a screen-printing studio, worked behind the bar in a nightclub, helped build a theatre set and built artwork for festivals.
After uni, I landed a job at a luxury department store doing the window displays, combining my love of creative design and fashion. It was here that a chance encounter with flowers set my sights on floral design. I established Bureau Botany at the tender age of 24, and here I am, nearly a decade later!
So I guess you could always say I've been a bit of a rule-breaker and I try to bring this to my floral design. I love a challenging creative brief that really gets my creative cogs turning figuring how I could pull it off. I feel blessed that I have turned my creativity in to a successful business! Teenage me would be so happy that the Art College sidestep paid off.

She listened to our ideas and was able to design exactly what we wanted. I was absolutely over the moon. Everything was easy and you can really tell how professional and talented she is.

Little did I know I would end up with two kids and running a floral design studio
I live in Yorkshire with my husband, two kids and rescue dog. We live very close to a woodland and when I'm not creating florals, I spend a lot of my spare time outdoors walking the dog, and exploring with my children. Being outdoors is my happy place.
I love interior design, fashion, a true crime podcast, going for a run, and coffee. I'm not ashamed to admit I am a coffee snob and I do know all the local spots that make the best flat whites!
